The e book discusses how economics and politics play a far larger position in bobcat administration and conservation than does science. Bobcat is the most complete and up-to-date guide on the pure historical past and administration of bobcats to seem in 40 years.
This book may be very properly researched and complete, nearly encyclopedic, especially for a small book. I cannot imagine a query about Bobcats that it doesn’t reply or give you enough info to guide the reader to where the answer may be found.
Folks that love bobcats or simply the idea of bobcats in our native habitats will discover many issues that make that love more pleasurable inside its covers.
Cat lovers especially will see parallels with and insights to their companion animals. Bob cats and Pussy cats will not be actually that far apart.
I believed this was an exquisite book. I’ve lived in central Nebraska all my life and have only had the priviledge of seeing three bobcats in the wild regardless that I have been a nature lover for 50 years and am frequently out in the field. The primary bobcat I saw was in 1992 as he all of a sudden dashed in entrance of my headlights one night whereas a buddy and I were slowing crusing “the River Road.” I waited 20 more years before glimpsing one other one. She was lifeless along the road close to the place I live. I buried her within the bushes close by. The third one was just three weeks ago as I was driving house at eight:00 p.m. What I assumed was a deer on the river bridge close to my house morphed into a bobcat as I obtained closer. I am sorry to say she was limping badly. I do not know if it was from a trap or if she was hit by a car.
Thanks, Mr. Hansen, for writing this excellent book. I particularly cherished the half about urging citizens to get entangled in helping the bobcats. I hate that they are hunted and trapped. In Nebraska in the 2011-2012 season 1,900 have been trapped/hunted.
