The Book of Clouds by John A. Day (Author). See the sky as you never have before. Using a series of his awe-inspiring pictures, photographer and scientist John Day–who has a Ph.D. in cloud physics and is thought around the world as “The Cloudman”–introduces us to earth’s great skyscape. His spectacular portfolio of images captures a variety of cloud types and shapes, ranging from cottony-comfortable cumulus clouds to frightening, whirling funnels, in addition to various optical effects seen within the heavens above. Rainbows, halos, coronas, flashes: all these and extra components in nature’s magic show seem on the page, together with the unbelievable “Parhelia” or solar pillar, shafts of vivid light that stretch from the bottom right up into the sky. An impressive cloud chart; an evidence of how clouds kind; hints on forecasting, observing, and photographing clouds; and his “Ten Causes to Look Up” present us how you can use our “interior eye” to essentially see the acquainted fleeting kinds that seem to float effortlessly above.

The numerous photographs making up the bulk of this guide (some already seen on his popular web site), are introduced in a structured way that exhibits their features and wonder and significance. Dr John Day (know as cloudman) has been practising and instructing about meteorology for longer than most of us have been around. His text is brief, and his type is aimed both at newbies and people who have already got some understanding and curiosity in weather. His chapter on the historical past of the naming of clouds make up the ultimate section.


This e-book has terrific coloration shots of many different sorts of clouds and skies. It’s an incredible e-book for using as an art reference and just about covers every form of cloud you may imagine.

This can be a superbly illustrated ebook, full of pictures plus descriptions. The e book arrived in good time and in good condition. We have been very happy and delighted.
